ICARE

The ICARE program (China-EU Institute for Clean and Renewable Energy), developed jointly with the Huazong University of Science and Technology (HUST), is coordinated by MINES ParisTech. It was born of a desire to contribute to the development of Sino-European exchanges in areas related to renewable energies.
The aim is to create an institute (ICARE) on renewable energies and energy efficiency, so the objective is to strengthen China's capacity in a growing field, to develop collaborative research activities, and to put forward propositions in the Franco-Chinese demonstration programs concerning eco-cities.
ICARE pursues actions that meet the following objectives:
- Training qualified students, to reduce the gap between the growing needs of the industry in terms of renewable-energy experts and the skills currently available in the Chinese labor market, particularly through a high-level Master’s program.
- Implementing scientific cooperation between European and Chinese researchers through a collaborative research platform
Setting up a think tank on green buildings and eco-cities that brings together academics and industrialists from both countries
